Antipasti and Welcome Wine

Malvira Roero Arneis 2012

Wine Enthusiast: "Made entirely with native grape Arneis, this refreshing white has pretty aromas of white spring flowers and pear. The palate offers creamy apple, pear and mineral notes along with crisp acidity that give it a clean finish."

Primi—Fettuccini, Sauteed Fresh Wild Mushrooms, Spinach, Parmigiano-Reggiano

Pecchenino Dolcetto di Dogliani Siri d’Jermu 2012

Perfectly mature fruit. It has an impenetrable and dense ruby color with spicy shades coming from a judicious, non-intrusive wood accompanied by touches of small red mature fruits. The taste is thick and has a softness that carries to the finish with long shades of minerals. Amazing power complexity and balance at this price level.

Ca’Viola Barbera d’Alba Brichet 2010

Rated 90 Points, The Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Barbera d’Alba Brichet bursts from the glass with layers of exuberant, varietally expressive fruit. This is a big, rich style long on the fruit and less concerned with subtlety, but it is hugely enjoyable for what it is; a juicy, totally delicious Barbera. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018."

Primi—Roast Quail, Fine Herbs, Truffled Risotto, Spring Pea Puree

Produttori del Barbaresco Asili Riserva 2009

Rated 91 Points, Stephen Tanzer's IWC: "Good bright medium red.  Red fruits, dried flowers, wild herbs and truffley underbrush on the complex, showy nose.  Gives a strong impression of extract on entry, then shows excellent tension and vinosity to its concentrated fruit and earth flavors.  A step up in density from the foregoing wines.  Tactile and gripping for the year, with a bright future."

Azelia Barolo San Rocco 2009

Rated 93 Points, The Wine Advocate: "Site-specific characteristics of bold black fruit and tight structure are definitely on display in the 2009 Barolo San Rocco. Earthy shadings and even a touch of white truffle give the wine a very attractive, savory and rich personality. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2028."

Secondi—Braised Lamb Shank, Creamy Polenta, Grape Tomato Ragu, Fresh Herbs

Proprieta Sperino Costa della Sesia Uvaggio 2011

Jumps from the glass with freshly cut flowers, mint, spices and sweet red berries. The Uvaggio is vibrant and mid-weight, yet it possesses lovely fleshiness. Savory and floral, this wine does a brilliant job of balancing aromatics, fruit and structure.

Proprieta Sperino Lessona 2009

Rated 94 Points, Antonio Galloni: "Sperino's 2009 Lessona is drop-dead gorgeous. Sweet red berries, tobacco, menthol and licorice all flesh out in a juicy, soft Nebbiolo with no hard edges and plenty of supple, deeply expressive fruit. This is an unusually resonant, generous young Lessona built on balance and symmetry. I expect the 2009 will be even better in another few years, but it is already a drop-dead gorgeous beauty."

Dolce—Orange Cardamom Panna Cotta, Strawberry Essence

Elio Perrone Moscato d’Asti Sourgal 2013

Golden yellow, sweet aromatic wine with fine, elegant perlage. Intense and persistent nose with strong hints of citrus, honey, lime and then again peach, sage, and orange blossom. Flavor is fresh, sweet, aromatic, persistent and elegant.
